It was an off road journey getting to the Stolen Girlfriends Club NZFW show - their immense popularity meant carparks were quickly snapped up and I soon found myself walking through the dark in the bush with a group of strangers to get there. Luckily throughout the day I had seen the boys and they had warned me to dress warm with flat shoes, I was prepared for the adventure.
Set offsite at the speedway the show had the usual energetic anticipation that all their Fashion Week shows have, there is always an element of mystery and of all the presentations throughout the week theirs had the most collective excitement. Never a brand to disappoint the show started with the rev of engines and a cloud of smoke as one by one backlit models confidently strode around the track as we watched from the bleachers.
This collection was without a doubt the strongest of their brand history to date, shapes were clean, finishing was on the nose and strangely they seemed to be one of the only brands to consider that this is a Winter collection, and NZ is cold, ( Make coats ). After checking out the garments in the showroom the quality, fabric weights and detailing really stood out and as I played dress ups I found at least 6 items as definite wish list items for 2015 - the check dress, check coat, blue coat, denim jumpsuit, men's mountain top and a yellow twinset, ahhhhh.
Nice work boys, check out my interview with them here
