I love when I get an email from a designer who I have known for a while and they want to collaborate on something, it fills me with this lovely feeling of positivity, collaborations are the best! This month I was asked to work on some 5th birthday images for Chaos and Harmony, a NZ based shoe company. To celebrate their birthday they decided to re-release some of their favourite styles from the last five years in black - I illustrated them, and the images are now framed up large on display in their new store Blak Chaos. I'll show you some snaps soon.
I had a little chat to Rebecca below:
You have produced many styles throughout the history of C&H what made you choose these 5 to celebrate your 5th birthday?
We wanted to select some of our most requested shoes, plus styles that were quite classic, so they can be kept for years to come and be known as part of the Chaos & Harmony - 5th birthday edition.
Are there any other birthday plans for Chaos and Harmony?
We are celebrating at Blakchaos for our birthday, exhibiting the art, drinking wine and eating coconut cake. We will also exhibit the art next Thursday at The Department Store, customers will also be treated to mini cupcakes!
In five more years Chaos and Harmony will be...
In NYC! So many goals/dreams and aspirations. We are excited and inspired by the next 5 years - it's going to be good!
What is inspiring you right now?
I'm totally inspired by the future. It looks good. I also have to say having the right staff/team has been inspirational, they work so hard and have great attitudes!
Heels or flats?
Heels every time.
Who would you love to see in a pair of your shoes?
Taylor Tomasi-Hill, Florence Welch, Angela Ahrendts, Olivia Wilde.
I also love to see the girl who never wears heels and tries them on for the first time and her face lights up. Seeing the joy is priceless.
If you had bunions like Beckham would you stop wearing heels?
Depending on the pain level, I probably would persist ;)
