I'm known for my momentary obsessions with specific colours, when I do colour I don't do it by halves. Having moved on from a yellow indulgence that spread to the colour of my hair (here too), and had me referenced on the news in NZ as a Lichtenstein girl, I was waiting for the next colour to grab me. I have previously loved red, but set it free when I had my hair copper - the clash a little off for me, but now that I am blonde red has a confident new appeal.
I have recently also revisited my love for vintage shopping - I was deterred momentarily when I had a run of bad luck, finding perfect pieces...then seeing they were damaged by stain, or finding only an oversatutation of crunchy polyester. My urge to try again is inspired by my blonde and the way it lends itself to 50s styling, the unavoidable trend for statement sweaters as demonstrated here on Netaporter also has me back, because lets face it, vintage stores are full of statement sweaters!
With joy last week my eyes landed on this preppy perfect cropped sleeve knit, at only $20 I was expecting a ghastly stain surprise, but with much happiness I discovered it was immaculate, not a damaged thread in sight. One wash later it is my new favourite pop of colour, perfect with a high waist leather skirt and topped off with this MAC Mineralize Rich lippy in Everyday Diva. It's love.
