I'm attracted to Marni in the same way that I am attracted to Miu Miu. There is something incredibly interesting about their gentle vintage reference, somewhat quirky palette and the way they combine clean shapes with pretty clashing pattern and texture. Even when only enjoying from a step back in a picture you can just tell that the jackets would be so weighty and thick and the silks perfectly smooth and bliss to wear. I hope that I will be able to experience the wearability while still youthful, but in the meantime I satisfy myself with gateway luxury hunting down their shoes and accessories with every spare coin after pay day... the day Netaporter offers layby is the day fashion loving freelancers get lucky. It was a Moda-Operandi email appearing in my inbox that first drew my attention to the Marni Pre-Fall 2014 collection, the Helena Bonham Carter lookalike wearing the collection added kooky appeal, and luckily for me one thing I could afford was inspiration. That night I sat down and pulled the check, fur and patterns together to create my own Fall Marni girl.
