It's the most exciting time to buy denim

I stopped buying jeans for a couple of years for a few reasons - I had a few comfy worn in favourites that I loved already, I went through a huge dress and skirt phase and I also felt hugely uninspired by the options, all I saw were skinnies and torn knees everywhere. Over the last couple of seasons my eyes have been diverted back as denim experiences an inspired renaissance, making now the most exciting time to find interesting variations on the classic jean.

Here are few of my favourite jean styles and some special mentions for brands nailing the shape/

Fringed Denim

If you're wearing an overall simple outfit a little fringe goes a long way to make your look more interesting. I think of it as a pre-accessorised clothing item. I personally would make sure the fringe isn't any lower than your ankle bone.

Comfies

I usually pull out my comfy jeans on Wednesdays, or when it's really cold outside, or if I had an accidental late night and still have to pull myself together for work. I love the tie waist trend that's popping up at the moment, it takes this casual style up a notch and makes it much more dressy if you team it with a good shirt.

Love the slightly 70's vibe comfies by Karen Walker! Comfy, but still super tidy and well cut.

Tonal Trims

I appreciate a tonal trim for the same reason I appreciate fringing - that added interest to an otherwise basic wardrobe item. There are many fun brands playing with mixing and matching dyes at the moment, here are a few below that have caught my eye.

Ankle Grazers

Last, but definitely not least my favourite trans-seasonal jeans! I wear them in the summer with sandals or heels and in the winter quite regularly with brogues and my socks pulled up a-la Michael Jackson.
