While working as an Account Manager at The Jacky Winter Group I had the very brief pleasure of helping with the initial stages of a contract between Dion Lee and Kate Banazi. The project was extremely exciting for Kate and made me oh so jealous, and at the same time very impatient to see what would come of the collaboration.

Before the project completed I finished my time at Jacky Winter, but luckily for me Kate sent through some sneak peek snaps of the range before it was released, when I saw it I gasped in admiration, the collection was unlike anything I had seen and simply stunning.

The 2013 resort collection has now been released and has me experiencing intense textile lust. Kate designed a series of prints which have been silkscreened, digitally printed, laser cut, embossed and translated on to light reflective fabrics, weaving their way around the female form and creating almost Magic Eye-esque 3D effects. Lee's undeniable design skill has seen an artist collaboration translate to not only create a textile print, but a sculptural work of art.

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of trying on a few pieces from the range and Lee's fine eye for detail and fabric was very apparent. The firmest fitting of dresses was sculpted to perfection in soft silk with a hint of spandex and everything was a complete dream to wear, fitting perfectly into every curve of the body in the most comfortable way possible. I couldnt resist a purchase and ended up leaving with this dress which was perfect for a summer wedding I had the following weekend.

I went for the pale blue and teamed my one with Anytime frames by Karen Walker, white pumps by Celine from Christine Boutique and a simple white clutch from Zara.
