Thanks to the various social media platforms that I subscribe to I was lucky to discover the work of Urs Fischer a Swiss artist currently residing in New York who is exhibitng a solo show at Moca in Los Angeles. The impressive exhibition covers 65,000 square feet over Moca's two venues and is a collection of over ten years of Fischer's work. The work varies in subject matter, entirely involving the gallery space with creatures and objects, but the main images that have captured my attention are those of his 1500 raindrops.

Created from plaster and resin and hung with nylon thread I find this sculpture to be quite playful and lighthearted. The electric blue droplets and their irregularity conjure personalities of their own, and I imagine that one could only stand with a smile while looking at this work. Imagine having it in your space!

As a side note, and meaning no disrespect I cant help but be reminded of that scene in Look Whos Talking...
